Kenneth Dean Blumhorst
Kenneth Dean Blumhorst, 78, of rural Arrow Rock, died Friday, May 24, 2013, at Boone Hospital Center in Columbia.
Celebration of life service will be held at 10:30 a.m. Tuesday, May 28, 2013, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall. Visitation will be held from 9 to 10:30 a.m. Tuesday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Salem Evangelical Cemetery near Arrow Rock. Memorials may be made to Salem Evangelical Church. Friends may sign the online register book at www.campbell-lewis.com.
Born Sept 24, 1934, in Saline City, he was the son of the late Chris H. Blumhorst and Alberta Klasing Blumhorst. On July 3, 1955, he married Ailene Pinkepank, who survives of the home. He had lived in the Arrow Rock Community his entire life and was a farmer. He was a member of Salem Evangelical Church and Missouri Valley Steam Engine Association. He loved antique tractors and cars.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by four children, Gary Blumhorst and his wife, Mandy, of rural Boonville, Debbie Weber of Villa Grove, Ill., Donna Blumhorst of Marshall and Diana Reed and her husband, Mike, of St. Peter, Ill.; 10 grandchildren, Butch Blumhorst and his wife, Melanie, Mike Blumhorst, Shelly Zdybel, Wendy Anderson and her husband Brian, Terri Haunhorst and her husband, Aaron, Sheila Gire, Lisa Lynn, Jeremiah Eidson and his wife, Allison, Stephanie Eidson and Joshua Eidson and his wife, Ally; 19 great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Wilbert Blumhorst and Robert Lee "Bob" Blumhorst; and one sister, Nellie Moon.
