The Marshall Lions Club held its weekly meeting May 6
The Marshall Lions Club held its weekly meeting at 12:05 p.m. Monday, May 6, at the Clubhouse in Marshall.
The meeting was called to order by Lion President Nancy Harris. Lion Pete Hollabaugh led the Pledge of Allegiance. Lion Mike Davis gave the prayer and opened the meeting.
There were 15 members in attendance.
A motion was made by Hollabaugh and seconded by Davis to apporve the minutes of the April 22 meeting.
In old business, Lion Jene Crook stated she, along with Lions Teresa Vogel, Maureen Burks and Harris, attended the State Convention in Kansas City. She also stated the dues will increase next year at the state level.
Harris passed around the sign-up sheet for mint day that will be held Friday, May 17.
A motion was made by Lion Leslie Sturhahn and seconded by Davis to donate $75 for an ad in the Lions All Star Basketball program.
In new business, Harris read a request from Bryce Malan for a donation. The request was referred to the board.
A motion was made by Lion Shirley Mach and seconded by Lion David Diehm to award this year's Marshall Lions Club Scholarships to Samantha Huston and Emily Harvey, Marshall High School seniors. They will receive $250 each.
Judge Hugh Harvey gave the program, "Saline County's Drug Court."
The meeting adjourned with Hollabaugh winning the kitty and leading the closing song.
