The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting Saturday, April 20

The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Saturday, April 20, at Bloomfields in Marshall.

The meeting was called to order by President Robyn Leimkuehler. The invocation was given by Paul Collier, followed by the Pledge of Allegiance.

Leimkuehler spoke about the zone meeting held Thursday, April 18, at her home. Sixteen people were present for that meeting, as well as West Missouri Optimist Governor Josh Floyd.

A report was given on the embryology project. Eggs have been passed out to area schools. Most eggs have already hatched.

The club held its monthly board meeting Thursday, April 26.

The program for the morning was given by Larry Arrowood. He spoke on the Jim the Wonder Dog memorial.

Several members of the club will attend the third quarter conference at Inn at Grand Glaize April 27-28.

Club elections were held for next years officers. The results were: John Barfrede as president; Gene Cassell and Charlie Leimkuehler as vice president; and Ken Donnell, Gary Grote and Brenda Thomason as board of directors.

The morning drawing was won by Gary Grote.
