Marshall Circle No. 535 Daughters of Isabella holds meeting April 10
Marshall Circle No. 535 Daughters of Isabella met at 8 p.m. Wednesday, April 10, at Knights of Columbus Hall.
Regent Anita Harris called the meeting to order. The prayers were led by Marge Elsea in the absence of the chancellor. Pledge to the Flag was given. Roll call of officers showed seven present, three excused and two absent.
Judy Mark read the minutes of the March meeting and they were approved. Mildred Gilliam gave the treasurer's report. Elsea reported the scribe notes had been published. Dorothy Teeter gave the receipts of the meeting.
Harris reported on the state convention that will be held from Sept. 27-29 in Sedalia. Cost of the package deal is $40. Members staying overnight will be staying at the Comfort Inn and will need to make arrangements. Marshall Circle will be responsible for table decorations, two wrapped gifts and an auction basket. Vitae donation needs to be in by Aug. 30.
The spring rummage sale will be held at Knights of Columbus Hall May 9-10. Donations of clean, useful items will be accepted from 3 to 6:30 p.m. Wednesday, May 8. The business meeting will be held at 7 p.m. Wednesday, May 8.
Elsea and Gilliam presented information to be used in the Queen Isabella Day proclamation. Maureen Burks had information regarding Daughters of Isabella. She volunteered to incorporate the material for use and asked members to meet at the city offices at 2 p.m. Monday, April 22, for proclamation.
The meeting adjourned at 9 p.m. with refreshments being served.
