Quick Look: Sweet Springs board decides to refinance bond
Sweet Springs school board opted Tuesday, April 16, to pursue refinancing of the district's $1.39 million 2009A bond, a move that could save the district more than $550,000.
The board made the decision after Larry J. Hart and Sybil Paris of L.J. Hart & Company presented the board with a number of refinance options.
In other business, the board approved the purchase of a 2014 model Thompson bus for $79,870 plus the cost of a luggage box and cloth seat for the driver.
The board also accepted a bid for a mower and approved a request to allow the YOM Track and Field Club to use district facilities.
The board certified the April election results, and board members Don Boland and Alan Zimmerscheid were sworn in.
Troy Schroeder was elect president of the board. Brian Vogelsmeier was elected vice president. Don Boland was elected treasurer. And Darla Reid was elected secretary.
The next board meeting will be at 7 p.m. Monday, May 13.
