The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Saturday, March 30, at Bloomfield's in Marshall.
The meeting was called to order by President Robyn Leimkuehler. The invocation was given by Ken Clause followed by the Pledge to the Flag.
The Regional Oratocial contest will be held Sunday, April 7, in Sedalia.
A card party will be held on Friday, April 12, at the home of Gene and Mary Cassell.
On Thursday, April 18, there will be a zone meeting at the home of Charlie and Robyn Leimkuehler.
Election of officers will take place Saturday, April 20.
The third quarter conference will be at the Inn at Grand Glaize April 26-27.
Leimkuehler gave a report on the fish fry held Friday, March 29.
On Saturday, April 6, the club voted on the substance abuse poster contest.
The morning program was given by Mark Wolf. He is the director of the Missouri State Fair in Sedalia. He spoke on the history of the fair and some of the events and activities.
The morning drawing was won by Ken Clause.
The meeting adjourned with the Optimist Creed.
