Marshall emergency shelter to close at noon if unneeded, Arrow Rock shelter available if needed

The American Red Cross shelter at the First United Methodist Church New Life Center, 225 E. Arrow St. in Marshall will close at noon Thursday, Feb. 28, unless people in need of shelter services contact the church prior to that time.

Saline County Emergency Management Director Russ Donnell said the shelter was opened Tuesday evening.

"To date, no one has utilized the services of the shelter," he said.

Housing has been opened at the Lyceum Theater dormitory on Route TT in Arrow Rock, he said.

"Two individuals were provided housing last night," he said. "They will provide bedding but you will need to bring your own food and personal items such as tooth brush, toothpaste, etc."

Housing at the Lyceum dormitory will be provide Thursday night if needed, he said.

Anyone who needs housing there should contact 314-221-1711 or 660-815-0007 to arrange admission to the facility.
