Storm arrives

The storm predicted to hit mid-Missouri earlier Thursday morning, Feb. 21, finally arrived in Marshall shortly before 8 a.m., and as expected, snowfall quickly increased.

In Marshall, emergency snow routes are in effect. Trash service was suspended shortly before 9:30 a.m.

Marshall City Office Building will close at 10 a.m.

The Saline County Courthouse will close at 11 a.m.

The Associated Press is reporting whiteout conditions across the western part of the state.

In northwest Missouri, snow is falling as much as 2 inches per hour in some places, according to AP.

In Kansas City, snow plows reportedly are unable to keep up with the pace of the precipitation.
