The person who was injured reportedly was struck by a display stand when the car came through the window, according to witnesses. The identity of the injured person was not immediately available.
The driver, Avon Hudson of Bosworth, said in her 89 years, this was her first traffic accident. She told Marshall police officers she was shaken up but not hurt in the accident.
Shoppers and store employees were startled by a loud boom as Hudson's car hit the window, but several people shopping near the front of the store escaped injury.
"I expected this to be a normal day at work," one employee said,
A shopper said the crash was a close call.
"We were just turning away from the Valentines when we heard a big old bang," said Kathy Hardwick. "Glass went everywhere."
After recovering from the initial shock, she and Cassie Haley made their way to the check out counter and paid for their items.
"'Oh my God' -- That was my first thought," said Tammie Garrison, who was standing near the front of the store and saw the white PT Cruiser come through the window.
Store Manager Melissa Boston said the store would be closed for the rest of the day as company officials assess the damage.
