DCP/ACRE sign-up starts February 19

FSA will begin sign-up for DCP and ACRE for the 2013 crops on February 19, 2013.

The DCP sign-up period will end on Aug. 2, 2013; the ACRE election period will end on June 3, 2013.

The 2013 DCP and ACRE program provisions are unchanged from 2012, except that all eligible participants in 2013 may choose to enroll in either DCP or ACRE for the 2013 crop year.

This means that eligible producers who were enrolled in ACRE in 2012 may elect to enroll in DCP in 2013 or may re-enroll in ACRE in 2013 (and vice versa).

If an ACRE election had previously been executed for a farm, the election will need to be completed again for 2013, if you want to keep the farm in ACRE.

Contact your local FSA county office to see if appointments are necessary to sign up.

Multi-county producers may sign-up all of their farms in one locations instead of going to each county office

You can also go to www.fsa.usda.gov for additional information on programs administered by FSA.

2013 AGI form

We now have the 2013 Adjusted Gross Income (AGI) form available for producers.

Producers who signed up for the Environmental Quality Incentive Program (EQIP) through NRCS can now complete their enrollment process by signing the new AGI form.

The new form, CCC-933, is effective for 2013 only.

Producers will have to answer four questions, just like previous AGI forms.

The questions refer to the producer's farm and nonfarm average Adjusted Gross Income based on their taxable income for the three year period of 2009, 2010, and 2011.

The average AGI limitations for 2013 are:

--$500,000 nonfarm AGI for commodity, price support, and disaster assistance programs

--$750,000 farm AGI for direct payments under DCP or ACRE

--$1,000,000 total AGI for direct payments

--$1,000,000 nonfarm AGI for conservation program benefits

Women in Ag Conference

The Women in Ag conference will be on March 15, 2013 in Marshall at the Martin Community Center.

Registration opened on January 7, and as of last week, we have reached maximum capacity.

Accordingly, registration is now closed.

--And it's important to note that we will not be able to accept any registrations at the door as we have in the past.

We want to thank everyone for their interest in the conference and are looking forward to a great day!

If you weren't able to register for this year's conference, we hope you'll be able to make it next year.
