Thursday, January 31, 2013

Kirby Brayman with Mr. Gary Green, Director of Bands- University of Miami Frost School of Music.
Kirby Brayman, junior clarinetist in the Marshall High School Band, was selected as 11th chair clarinet for the Missouri All-State Band.

She recently traveled to Osage Beach and rehearsed with students from across the state for four days. The band performed at Tan-Tar-A on the final day of the 75th Annual Missouri Music Educators Association Conference. The band was under the direction of Mr. Gary Green, Director of Bands at the University of Miami Frost School of Music.

Interesting to see the name Gary Green when there is anotherGary Green in Brevard,NC serving as youth dirctor in the Presbyterian church who was born in Marshall and is son of Paul Green who was Social Studies teacher at MHS in 1950 (part time minister also) who went on to be Superintendant at Malta Bend and then to Jeff City in some capacity with the gov. education dept. I live in Jacksonville Fl but have run into two common thread contacts in Brevard NC and 2 others in the school where I taught back in 1958. Small world!
