SPRINGFIELD -- The Marshall girls' swim team had four entries place in the top 15 Saturday during the Springfield Invitational.
The Lady Owls tallied 19 points to place 16th in a field of 20 teams. Notre Dame de Sion of Kansas City took first place by a margin to 340 to 326 points over host Glendale.
Senior Kameron Godsey scored in back-to-back events with a 14th place in the 100-yard backstroke (1:10.30) and 15th in the 100 breaststroke (1:20.06). She also led off the Lady Owls' 12th-place 200 medley relay (2:14.90) ahead of freshman Lauren Nichols, senior Amber Lonaker and sophomore Emily Raines and anchored the 15th-pace 200 free relay (2:00.66) behind Raines, Nichols and sophomore Hayley Campbell.
Nichols lowered her personal record 4.23 seconds in the 100 back (1:15.87), coming in 25th out of 67 entries, and was 40th in a field of 79 swimmers in the 50 free (29.54 seconds).
Lonaker was 28th in the 100 butterfly (1:16.22) and 40th in the 200 free (2:33.38) and Raines was 35th in the 100 free (1:06.19) and 42nd in the 50 free (29.67).
Junior Madison Gaba lowered her time in the 200 individual medley (3:06.88) by 12.02 seconds, with personal bests also recorded by freshman Olivia Kays in the 100 free (1:17.02) and junior Sam Ehrhardt in the 100 breast (1:39.29).
Marshall will be back in the pool Saturday for the Hickman Quad at Columbia.
