Owls drop NCMC dual to Hannibal

The Marshall wrestling team won four of 10 bouts Saturday during a 49-20 NCMC home dual loss to Hannibal.

The Pirates, ranked No. 6 among Class 3 tournament teams by MissouriWrestling.com, picked up 18 points from three defaulted weight classes.

The Owls got their points from pins by seventh-ranked freshman Aaron Sims (138 pounds) and junior Tyler Eidson (195), an 18-3 technical fall for No. 8 senior Berry Benedick (285) and a 10-3 decision for junior T.J. Fox (170).

Marshall freshman Ramon Herrera (160) gave a tough match to freshman Kristofer Ruddell during a 2-1 loss.

Hannibal (8-8, 2-3 NCMC) got four of its wins from state-ranked grapplers: sophomores Chandler Fohey (113) and Colby Collings (152) recording tech falls and senior Brant Dooley (182) and sophomore Kyle Muehring (220) getting pins.

The Owls (7-11, 1-4) close out the regular season at home today with a league contest against No. 9 Moberly.
