CANTON -- Culver-Stockton ended the Missouri Valley College men's basketball team's three-game win streak Thursday with a 91-64 Heart of America Conference decision at Canton.
The Lady Wildcats also won, 74-59, to finish off a sweep of both doubleheaders against MVC.
Vikings only led for 15 seconds early in the first half, falling behind by as many as 19 points before heading into the break trailing, 43-31.
Jumpers by junior Law Brown and freshman Jordan Epps pulled Valley to within eight points as the second half began, but the Wildcats responded with a 24-11 stretch over the next nine minutes to extend the margin to 21 points.
Culver got its lead up to 28 points and cruised to the win.
Junior James Johnson scored 22 points and senior Marshawn Norris contributed 16 points and 12 assists for the 'Cats (16-6, 7-3 HAAC), who shot 44.4 percent from the field and were 11 of 33 from three-point range.
By contrast, the Vikings (9-13, 4-6) made only 32.9 percent of their field goals and were two of 18 from beyond the arc. They were led by Epps' 18 points.
The Valley women stayed closer during the first half, down by only seven points, but the Lady Wildcats stormed out of the break with an 18-6 spree for a 51-32 cushion with 13:11 left in the game.
The Lady Vikings got to within 10 points when senior Sami Jackson converted three free throws with 2:29 left, but Culver scored seven straight points over the next minute-and-a-half to put the game out of reach.
Junior Mimi Reaves had 19 points and freshman Kati Davis provided 10 points and 12 rebounds for the Lady 'Cats (9-11, 4-6).
Valley (6-16, 3-7) got 19 points off the bench from senior Cara Clark, with Jackson adding 18 points and six assists.
The Vikings will be at home Saturday to take on Baker.
