The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, at Bloomfield's in Marshall.
The meeting was called to order by Club President Robyn Leimkuehler. The invocation was given by Paul Collier, followed by the Pledge to the Flag.
A zone meeting will be held at the Leimkuehler home Tuesday, Jan. 29. The meat will be furnished and everyone is asked to bring a side dish.
Kyle Gibbs will be in charge of the club's oratorical contest.
The second quarter conference will be held Feb. 7-9 in Independence.
Ken Donnell reported on a project he is starting for the Optimist International Foundation.
The program for the morning was given by Pam LaFranz of Missouri Valley Community Action Agency. She spoke on the program and services that are provided by MVCAA.
The drawing was won by Wayne McReynolds.
The meeting was adjourned with the Optimist Creed.
