Chairman of the committee, Stan Moore, started the Marshall-Saline Development Corporation Tourism Advisory Committee meeting on Wednesday, Jan. 23, by giving an update on the Department of Tourism grant.
The grant reimbursement for July to December 2012 was received and the grant for January to June 2013 was approved.
Moore reviewed website statistics and advertising. He told those in attendance to monitor their efforts to bring out of town visitors to Marshall.
"Do what works, but know what works or you," Moore said. "Keep track of things as we go through the year so you have something in October when we start putting stuff together."
An update on the new Marshall brochure was given.
"It's coming along," Pam Thomeczek said as she reviewed the edits with the committee.
The new Missouri logo is now required on anything the Department of Tourism grant money helps pay for, according to Moore.
Barb Berlin announced Nicholas Beazley Museum will be open five days a week starting in March, Tuesday through Saturday 10 a.m. to 4 p.m.
In addition to Moore, Thomeczek and Berlin, Betty Lenz, Arlene Borchers, Larry Arrowood, Carolyn Pearson and Jill Murray were in attendance.
Minutes of the last meeting were approved. The next meeting of the MSDC Tourism Advisory Committee will be Wednesday, Feb. 27, at 9 .m. at the MSDC office.
