Blanche D. Forbes, 108, of Sweet Springs, died Thursday, Jan. 17, 2013, at Mar-Saline Manor in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Monday, Jan. 21, 2013, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with William W. Harlow officiating. Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service. Burial will be in Fairview Cemetery in Sweet Springs. Pallbearers will be Greg Mach, Kirk Austin, Mark Clause, Brad Evans, Chad Farrell and Ross Venable. Born Oct. 26, 1904, in Saline County, she was the daughter of the late Michael P. Duffey and Rebecca Reeves Duffey. In 1930, she married Earl H. Forbes, who preceded her in death in 1992. She called Sweet Springs her home. For the past two years she lived at Hartland Residential Care in Marshall, and after a brief illness, Mar-Saline Manor.
Survivors include one daughter, Kay Pummill of Marshall; one grandson, Mark Forbes and his wife, Vicky, of Wickenburg, Ariz.; five granddaughters, Jacquelyn Mach and her husband, Greg, Kathy Austin and her husband, Kirk, Karla Clause and her husband, Mark, Lea Anne Evans and her husband, Brad, of Marshall and Sara Jane Farrell and her husband, Chad, of Kingsville; 11 great-grandchildren; two sisters-in-law, Shirley Forbes and Vera Forbes, nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, George Forbes in 2009; four brothers; and two sisters.
