Joe Hostetter, 67, of Lexington, formerly of Higginsville, died Tuesday, Jan. 15, 2013, at Lafayette Regional Health Center in Lexington.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Jan. 19, 2013, at Hoefer Chapel,located at 1600 Main St. in Higginsville, with Dr. Greg Fine officiating and Dennis Milton as vocalist. Interment will be in Higginsville City Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. prior to the service. Memorial contributions may be sent to family choice. Casketbearers will be Bill Marshall, Junior Bosley, Bruce Bosley, Raymond Coslet, Vaughn Owens and Dennis Million. Honorary pallbearers are Dave Tracy and Vinnie Thompson. Born Saturday, May 19, 1945, in Jefferson City, he was the son of the late Joseph Maxwell Allen Hostetter and Dorothy J. (Schneider) Hostetter. On Dec. 23, 1972, he married Carolyn F. Conaway, who survives of Marshall. He worked as a lead driver for Sports Associated Trucking Company, retiring in 2006, and was also formerly the lead singer in the Country Chapperels. He lived most of his life in Higginsville, moving to Lexington in 2006. He served in the National Guard and was a member of First Baptist Church in Higginsville.

In addition to his wife, he is survived by one son, Douglas of Independence; two daughters, Yvonne Reeves of Keokuk, Iowa, and Nancy Noyes of Witchita, Kan.; two brothers, Stanley Hostetter of Edison, N.J., and Paul Hostetter of Bridgeport, Texas; five sisters, Jean Butler of Lee's Summit, Sandra Martin of Higginsville, Belinda Spears of San Antonio, Texas, Beverly Kraft of Lexington and Pauline Graf of Higginsville; and three grandchildren.

In addition to his parents, he is preceded in death by one daughter, Debbie Sauble and one grandson.
