TAMPA, Fla. -- Marshall senior Marc Plummer is in Tampa, Fla., today to begin two days of football practice prior to competing in the Blue-Grey National All Star Classic.

The event will be held Saturday at 7 p.m. in Raymond James Stadium, home of the NFL's Tampa Bay Buccaneers and site of Super Bowls XXXV and XLIII. The contest will be live-streamed on the internet (http://www.foxsportsflorida.com/pages/prepzone) and broadcast nationally on a delayed basis by Fox Sports South.

Plummer was one of 90 senior college recruiting prospects selected from among 4,200 players who attended regional combined. He made the first cut out at St. Joseph in April and advanced further by his performance at the Super Combine in Canton, Ohio, in June.

Selected on the all-NCMC first team and both Missouri Sportswriters and Sportscasters Association and Missouri Football Coaches Association all-district squads, Plummer enjoyed a strong final campaign for the 6-5 Owls.

He led Marshall in rushing with 1,125 yards and seven touchdowns on 222 carries, an average of 5.1 yards per attempt, and also caught a team-high 13 passes for 123 yards. That followed an injury-riddled junior season in which he was limited to 323 yards and one TD in 145 touches running the ball.

Plummer also had 59 tackles, 10 for loss, while playing linebacker for the Owls last season. He is being listed as a strong safety, along with running back as a secondary position, for the South squad in the all-star game.
