Houstonia woman hurt in crash on railroad tracks

A Houstonia woman suffered minor injuries Tuesday, Jan. 1, when the 2012 Chevrolet she was driving was struck by a train in Saline County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Kelsey L. Underwood, 25, was taken by ambulance to Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall for treatment.

She was traveling northbound shortly before noon near the intersection of Wildcat Road and 250th Lane. The vehicle she was driving skidded across the railroad tracks and was struck in the rear by a vehicle driven by John M. Riney, 39, of Gladstone, troopers said.

Underwood was wearing a safety device, according to the report.
