Evelyn Rogers, 95, of Marshall, died Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Dec. 31, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall, with Rev. Randy Shannon officiating.Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. Monday at the funeral home. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Born Feb. 28, 1917, in Mt. Leonard, she was the daughter of the late Willis Ballard Barnes and Myrtle V. Wilder Barnes. She married Walter Howard, who preceded her in death in 1945. In 1950 she married Durwood B. Rogers, who preceded her in death on July 29, 2005. She attended Marshall Cumberland Presbyterian Church.
Survivors include one daughter, Judy Gibbs and her husband, Dave, of Pearl River, N.Y.; two granddaughters, Lindsay Crouch and her husband, Neal, and Michelle Welsh and her husband, Brian; five great-grandchildren, Sydney Gibbs, Reagan and Mason Crouch, Hannah Hoppe and Garrett Welsh; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husbands, she was preceded in death by one brother, Willis B. Barnes Jr.; and one sister, Doris Lovick and her husband, Earle.
