Marshall woman stabbed to death late Wednesday | Person of interest sought by police

A Marshall woman was stabbed to death late Wednesday, Dec. 26, at a Birchwood Circle residence, and Marshall police are seeking information on the whereabouts of a person of interest in the case.

Rebecca Fisher, 32, was found lying on the porch of the residence by police and EMS crew members after a 911 call at 10:47 p.m. reported a woman had suffered lacerations, according to Marshall police.

Police said she had suffered stab wounds and was transported to Fitzgibbon Hospital. She was pronounced dead at about 11:30 p.m., police spokesman Sgt. Roger Gibson said.

Law enforcement agencies are currently looking for a person of interest, Terry Thompson of Marshall.

Thompson is 45 years old, 5 feet, 11 inches tall and weighs approximately 180 pounds. The last contact with Thompson indicated he was located east of Columbia and headed east, Gibson said.
