Born Feb. 15, 1942, in Kansas City, Kan., he was the son of the late William Franklin Conner Sr. and Wanita Hall Conner. He lived most of his life in the rural Marshall and Malta Bend areas and was a 1961 graduate of Malta Bend High School. On June 26, 1965, he married Linda Carolyn Hawkins, who survives of the home. Bill had many occupations in life, including being a trucker, farmer and cattleman. He was an integral part of his wife's flower shop, Country Floral and Keepsakes. He loved woodworking and was proud to have just completed a bench using wood from his father's barn. He loved his cows and had recently taken an interest in chickens and found great joy in two mini horses he received this week; and was always happy being with his two grandchildren. Bill was a longtime member of Union Baptist Church.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by two children, Denise Michelle Conner of rural Marshall and Dennis William Conner and his wife, Tawnya, of Marshall; two grandchildren, Emily and Liam Conner; one sister, Judy Taylor of Lee's Summit; as well as well as several nieces and nephews.
