James A. Cox, 71, of Sweet Springs, died Tuesday, Dec. 18, 2012, at Fitzgibbon Hospital in Marshall.
Memorial services will be held at 1 p.m. Thursday, Dec. 27, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Sweet Springs. Memorials may be made to family choice.
Born June 20, 1941, in Hardeman County, Tenn., he was the son of the late Parker Davis Cox and Ina Mae Vickers Pipkin. He had lived in Sweet Springs the last several years, and in August 1999, he married Ruth Parker Pummill, who survives of the home. He had worked in coal mines in Tennessee, was a truck driver for many years and of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by several children, grandchildren, siblings, nieces and nephews.
