Joy V. Lowry, 94, of Marshall, died Thursday, Dec. 6, 2012, at Apple Ridge Care Center in Waverly.
Graveside services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Slater City Cemetery, with William W. Harlow officiating. Friends may call Saturday at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Born Nov. 5, 1918, in Slater, she was the daughter of the late Clyde Dresser Sargent and Christine Dena Sousa Sargent. In 1939, she married Charles Russell Reith and they divorced. In 1962, she married Floyd Lowry, who preceded her in death. She had lived in Marshall most
of her life and retired in 1994 from the Saline County Rest Home. She was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
Survivors include three grandchildren, Laney Ann Crabtree, Penny Shannon and her husband, Steve, and Rusty Reith and his wife, Judith, all of Marshall; three great-grandchildren, Caylen Crabtree, Jordan Reith and Emily Reith; one sister, Gwen Piper of Marshall; and several nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one son, Kenny Reith; three sisters, Dora Julian, Winifred Beadles and Betty Stuart; and one brother, Kenneth Sargent.
