Robert M. (Duffer) Smith, 70, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. Friday, Dec. 7, 2012, at First Christian Church in Marshall, with The Rev. Dr. Don Brezavar officiating. Visitation will be held from 1:30 to 2:30 p.m. Friday at the church. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Dec. 2,1942, in Clinton, he was the son of the late Clyde Wilbur Smith and Anna Marie Adair Smith. He was a 1960 graduate of Clinton High School and attended Central Missouri State University. On April 19, 1969, he married Donna Brashear, who survives of the home. He was a retired sales representative working for The Jones Store, Big Smith and Walls Industries. He was a member of First Christian Church where he was currently serving as an elder. He was a member of the Kiwanis Club ,having served as past president. He proudly served in the U.S. Army and was a member of Malta Bend American Legion Post 558.
In addition to his wife, survivors include two daughters, Debbie Tucker and her husband, Brennan, of Kansas City, and Leslee McCabe and her husband, Dru, of Parkville; four grandchildren, Braden and Dawson Tucker, and Laney and Austen McCabe; and one brother, John C. (J.C.) Smith of Clinton.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by one brother, Gary Stark Smith; and his father-in-law and mother-in-law, Donald and Ilene Brashear.
