Frank W. (Frankie) Makings, 65, of Marshall, died Tuesday, Dec. 4, 2012, at his home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Chapel in Marshall with William W. Harlow officiating. Burial will be in Ridge Park Cemetery. Visitation will be held from 6 to 7:30 p.m. Friday Dec. 7, 2012, at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to American Diabetes Association or American Heart Association. Born Dec. 11, 1946, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Lyle E. Makings and Willie Mae Wyrick Makings, who survives of Marshall. He lived in Marshall his entire life where he worked at ConAgra for many years and then as a welder at Quinn Concrete until his retirement. He was actively involved in the sport of racing from 1967 until the late 1990s and maintained an avid interest in racing all of his life. He was a member of First Baptist Church in Marshall.
In addition to his mother, he is survived by one daughter, Staci Hooper of Marshall; one son, John Makings and his wife, Anita, of Marshall; four grandchildren, Madison Hooper, Molly McNulty, Duffin Makings and Hollis Makings; two great-grandchildren, Olin Craddock and Jemma Jenkins; one brother, Tom Makings of Odessa; two sisters, Susan Aulgur and Joedy Darling, both of Marshall; along with several nieces and nephews.
In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by one brother, Greg Makings.
