Jeanette Schuette, 75, of Blackburn, died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Kansas City Hospice House.
Memorial services will be held at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 8, 2012, at Zion Lutheran Church in Blackburn with Pastor Timothy Miille officiating. Private family burial was in Zion Lutheran Cemetery. Born Oct. 22, 1937, in Blackburn, she was the daughter of the late Elmer Nienhiser and Selma Kalthoff Nienhiser. She had lived in Blackburn most of her life where she was a 1955 graduate of Blackburn High School. She attended St. John's College in Winfield, Kan., where she earned her associate's degree. On Feb. 11, 1961, she married Delbert Schuette, who preceded her in death on April 30, 1989. She lived in Blackburn most of her life where she was a member of Zion Lutheran Church. She worked for several local businesses in Blackburn, including Gottenstroeter's for several years and Blackburn Bank, which was later acquired by Community Bank of Marshall, retiring in 1999. She was a member of Zion Guild, Priscilla Guild, Blackburn Highlight Club and had served as a 4-H leader for the Lucky Leaf Club of Blackburn.
Survivors include one son, Cody Schuette and his wife, Diane, of Blackburn; one daughter, Robin Schuette and her husband, John Greene, of Evanston, Ill.; two granddaughters, Hannah and Madalyn Schuette; one brother, Larry (Corky) Nienhiser of Lexington; along with many nieces and nephews.
In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by one sister, Linda Heimsoth.
