Trooper McCormick promoted, assigned to Zone 10

Capt. Robert L. Powell, commanding officer of Troop A, Lee's Summit, is announced that effective Nov. 1, trooper Robert "Rob" V. McCormick has been promoted to the rank of corporal and designated as assistant zone supervisor of Zone 10, which patrols Saline County.

McCormick is a native of Kansas City and a 1987 graduate of Hickman Mills High School.

After high school, McCormick attended Longview Community College, where he earned an associate's of arts degree.

McCormick was appointed to the Patrol on Jan. 1, 1997, as a member of the 73rd Recruit Class.

After graduating from the MSHP's Law Enforcement Academy, he was assigned to Troop A, Ray and Carroll counties.

McCormick is married to Katherine (Hyde).
