Marshall residents were surprised to return home Wednesday evening to find something odd about their front yard.
Just after 7:30 p.m. Nov. 28, a Saline County Sheriff's deputy responded to a report of a damaged mailbox on the 13000 block of Garland Avenue. The residents had left three hours earlier and upon returning home noticed it wasn't on its post.
The mailbox was found roughly 20 feet away, according to a sheriff's department report, and the post didn't appear to have any damage.
No other mailboxes on the street were displaced or damaged, according to the report. Homeowners questioned if it had been hit by farm machinery or purposely vandalized. No other information is currently available.
