Born Jan. 4, 1926, in Marshall, he was the son of the late Gladys M. Dunn and Robert M. Dunn. He attended Marshall High School and was a member of the Presbyterian Church. Following graduation he earned a bachelor's degree in journalism from University of Missouri in Columbia. On June 14, 1949, he married Jacqueline S. Dunn. He lived in Oklahoma and worked for the Tulsa World & Tribune newspaper. In 1952, he moved his family to Chicago, to join the Chicago Herald American newspaper. He spent the majority of his professional career with McGraw-Hill Publishing Company where he received numerous awards and was recognized as one of the company's top sales executives - worldwide. He was a long-time member and deacon with First Presbyterian Church of LaGrange, Ill. He was also elected president of the resident's council and member of the board of directors at Plymouth Place in LaGrange Park.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Daniel Dunn and his wife, Gayle, Stephen Dunn and Mark Dunn; grandchildren, Colin and his wife, Caroline, Oliver and Elliott; great-grandchildren, Patrick and Conner; and his sister-in-law, Dorothy (Boyes) Dunn.
