Raymond C. Ford, 78, of Slater died Saturday, Nov. 24, 2012, at Capitol Region Medical Center in Jefferson City.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Nov. 29, 2012, at Slater United Methodist Church with Rev. David L. Duncan officiating. Burial with military rites will be in Rehoboth Cemetery with Tommy Conger, James Parrish, Josh Simons, Frank Buglovsky, Ron Fry and Raymond C. Ford Jr. serving as pallbearers. Visitation will be held from 6 to 8 p.m. Thursday, November 28, 2012, at Weiker Funeral Home in Slater. Memorials are suggested to the American Diabetes Association.
Born Feb. 19, 1934, in Mount Clemmons, Mich., he was the son of the late William H. and Lillie Schmidt Ford. On Aug. 13, 1977, in Slater, he married Mary M. Hopkins, who survives of the home. He was a U.S. Army veteran and worked at Tyson Foods in Marshall until his retirement.
In addition to his wife, he is survived by three sons, Raymond C. Ford Jr. of Jamestown, Tommy Conger of Gilliam and James Parrish of Slater; four daughters, Kimberly Ford of Columbia, Beth Ann Rife of Marshall, Becky Holman of Sedalia and Patty Rule of London, Ark.; ten grandchildren; and five great-grandchildren.
