A woman suffered a gunshot wound in the forehead Sunday morning, Nov. 25, at a Mt. Leonard residence, according to a Saline County Sheriff's Department report.
The wound was apparently self-inflicted and accidental, according to statements made by several occupants of the home at the time of the incident, deputies said.
The 30-year-old woman was taken by Life Flight air ambulance to an area hospital for treatment.
She told the deputy she was putting the rifle into a closet when it fired.
The investigation continues, according to the report.
