Heart of America Conference Awards

Friday, November 23, 2012

Heart of America Conference football coaches have singled out two representatives from Missouri Valley College for end-of-season awards.

Head coach Paul Troth was named the league's "coach of the year" after leading the Vikings to the their second straight title -- and first unbeaten, undisputed championship since 2006. During his 11 seasons, Valley has an 88-33 record under Troth.

Junior cornerback Tyler Davis of University City has been recognized as the HAAC's "defensive player of the year," being named to the all-conference first team at both defensive back and punt returner. Davis has recorded 48 tackles, eight interceptions, both a punt and fumble return for a touchdown, and nine passes defended.

The Marshall Democrat-News will list all of the Vikings' all-conference selections at a later date.
