ALMA -- Senior Andrew Curry had 17 points, 11 assists and six rebounds Tuesday to pace the Santa Fe boys' basketball team to a season-opening 71-39 non-conference home win over Hardin-Central.
Curry scored 16 points to send the Chiefs into the break with a 41-18 cushion. Sophomore Truman Sleeper scored 14 of his 16 points during the first half.
Sophomore Wyatt Craven tallied nine points to lead the Tigers (0-1), who were out-shot 48.1 to 31.8 percent from the field and suffered a 25-9 turnover deficit.
Senior Chad Tieman contributed 11 points and nine boards for Santa Fe (1-0).
Junior Olivia Ellis tallied 11 points during Hardin-Central's 17-9 third-quarter run to defeat the Lady Chiefs, 53-41. She finished with 25 points for the Lady Tigers (1-0).
Santa Fe got 12 points off the bench from freshman Kylie Limback. The Lady Chiefs (0-1) struggled from the free-throw line, making only 10 of 36 attempts.
The Santa Fe teams will be at home Tuesday against Tina-Avalon.
