MHS students participate in local debate tournaments

Marshall High School participated in the Smith-Cotton Tournament held Oct. 19-20.

The following results were announced: Marshall High School placed third in Overall Sweepstakes; Haley Campbell, second in Lincoln-Douglas Debate; Caitlin Crawford, third in Lincoln-Douglas Debate; Cindy Umana, fifth in Lincoln-Douglas Debate; Christian Farris and Dustin Blankenship, second in Public Forum Debate; Andrew Markes, first in Humorous; Mary Elfrink; second in Prose Reading; Andrew Markes and Cindy Umana, third in Duet Acting; Hallie Harper and Sarah Mittenburg, fourth in Duet Acting; Juan Villalobos, fifth in Poetry Reading; James Elfrink and Justin Miller, fifth in Duet Improv; Andrew Markes, sixth in Radio Speaking; Jack Alsbach and Ashley Otken, sixth in Duet Acting; Lacey Riley, seventh in Poetry Reading; Jazmin Castrellon, seventh in Original Oratory; Dustin Blankenship, ninth in Prose; and Abigail Henke, tenth in Prose.

MHS also competed in the Stover Speech Tournament.
