Clarence Dwight Behrends, 64, of Marshall, died Saturday, Oct. 27, 2012 at his home.
Graveside services with military rites will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Nov. 1, 2012, at Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville with William W. Harlow officiating. Born Dec. 1, 1947, in Algona, Iowa, he was the son of the late LaVern Arthur Behrends and Margaret Noone Behrends. He had lived in the Marshall area for many years where he was a mechanic at ConAgra Foods for nearly 40 years. He was a U.S. Army veteran.
Survivors include two sons, Jeremy Behrends and his wife, Bree, of rural
Houstonia and Jamie Behrends and his wife, Kimberly, of rural Marshall; three grandchildren, Alynna, Jastin and Kage; one sister, Donna McBain of Mt. Vernon; several nieces and nephews; and his longtime companion, JoAnn Roscher, of the home; her children, Christina Haesemeyer of Independence and Lisa Phillips and her companion, Tom Malan, of Marshall; her grandchildren, Nicole, Samantha, Tiffany and Riley Haesemeyer, Greg and Chris Phillips; and her great-grandaughter, Kenna.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by two brothers, Kenneth and Greg.
