MOBERLY -- Senior Isaac Phillips was back in the net Tuesday for the Marshall boys' soccer team, and just in time for its final NCMC match of the season.
Phillips wasn't often tested in posting his eighth shutout of the season as the Owls' defense allowed only one shot on goal during a 1-0 decision at Moberly.
Marshall unloaded nine shots against the Spartans (7-16, 5-6 NCMC), four by sophomore Isai Trujillo -- the second one, off a pass from junior Bryan Sandoval, going in for his team-high 19th goal.
The two teams will meet again next Tuesday during the semifinal round of the Class 2, District 5 Tournament at Kirksville. Meanwhile, the Owls (11-8, 9-3) close out the regular season at home Thursday with a non-conference match against Chillicothe.
