Hattie Christena Baldwin Keith, age 90, of Waverly, died Thursday, Oct. 18, 2012, at her home.
Visitation was held from 12:30 to 2 p.m. Monday, Oct. 22, 2012, at Waverly Methodist Church with funeral services following at 2 p.m. Reverend Noel Chase and Reverend Gene Fox officiated. Burial was in Waverly Cemetery. The family suggests contributions be made to the Rheumatoid Arthritis Foundation in memory of Hattie. They may be left at or mailed to Gibson Funeral Home, 201 S. Born Feb. 12, 1922, in Waverly, she was the daughter of Emil and Julia Ann (Mobley) Martens. She graduated from Grand Pass High School. In 1939, she married Walter E. Baldwin, who preceded her in death in 1978. In 1984, in Waverly, she married Eugene Keith, who preceded her in death in 2009. She had owned and operated the Baldwin Café in Waverly, cooked at the Elementary school in Waverly, worked at Lake City Arsenal and Banquet Foods and was a Postmaster at Grand Pass post office. She was a member of the Waverly Methodist Church.
She is survived by two sons, Eddie Baldwin and Larry Baldwin, both of Waverly; six grandchildren; 19 great-grandchildren; and six great-great-grandchildren.
In addition to her husbands and her parents, she was preceded in death by three sisters, Viola Martins, Anna Thate and Myrtle Kelb; and three brothers, LeRoy Martens, Jim Martens and John Martens.
