Linda Gallagher, 65, of Sweet Springs, died Tuesday, Oct. 16, 2012, at her home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 20, 2012, at Immanuel Lutheran Church in Sweet Springs with visitation one hour prior to the service at the church. Born March 22, 1947, in Jasper, Ark., she was the daughter of the late Rev. James Eldon Smith and Dovie Ruth Baucom Smith. On July 23, 1963, she married Robert L. Gallagher, who survives of the home. She graduated from high school in Sioux City, Iowa, in 1965 and took several courses following high school. She had lived in the Sweet Springs area for several years, previously living in Marshall. She served in the nursing field for many years and was always a caregiver. For nearly 10 years, she was the church secretary at Immanuel Lutheran Church where she was an active member.
In addition to her husband, she is survived by her children, Robin Dixon of Fulton, Robert L. Gallagher Jr. of Sweet Springs, Sean Michael Gallagher of Wentzville, Bill Gallagher of the home, Clarissa Renken of Sweet Springs and Joshua Thompson of the home; nine grandchildren; six great-grandchildren; one brother, James Eldon Smith Jr. of Blue Springs; one sister, Ramona Neece of Sedalia; along with several nieces and nephews.
