Seniors Aaron Robinson and Laina Talimatasi were announced as the Homecoming King and Queen during halftime of the Missouri Valley College football game Saturday.
The ceremonies were truncated due to an incessant rain which abbreviated the usual formal presentation.
Robinson is a psychology major from Wahiawa, Hawaii, and a member of the men's volleyball team. Also a volleyball player and psychology major, Talimatasi hails from Independence.
The royal court consisted of Queen candidates Cara Clark of Omaha and LeKyndra Duncan of Springfield and King nominees Danny Harrah of Louisiana, Mo., and Weston Lofton of Ava.
Earlier in the day, there were six inductions into the MVC Athletic Hall of Fame.
Donald Kalthoff (Class of 1961), Russell Moulton ('75) and Dennis "Ace" Reilly ('75) were all-conference football players for the Vikings, while William "Bill" Tuck ('73) and Beau Vest ('01) were wrestlers. Kalthoff received all-America honors and Vest was won an NAIA championship.
Also honored was the 1962 baseball team, which won the MCAU championship and reached the NAIA playoffs in the first year of the program's revival after a 29-year hiatus.
