Riley wins Pick 'Em tiebreaker

Monday, October 15, 2012

A three-way tiebreaker in The Marshall Democrat-News' Pigskin Pick 'Em contest went to Clyde Riley of Marshall.

Riley and two other players -- Fred Hager and Howard Harris, Jr. -- were perfect in their selections of eight high school and college games, one deleted due to an incorrect listing, and all three chose Tampa Bay over the Kansas City Chiefs. However, Riley came closer to the Buccaneers' 38-10 victory in his prediction of the final score than the other contenders' lower tallies.

There weren't any upsets to challenge the players in Week 7, with only one of the games falling below an 82-percent success rate.

Riley wins a large Pizza Hut pizza for the first time this season.
