Boys' Soccer: Helias 3, Marshall 0

Friday, October 12, 2012

Eighth-ranked Helias out-shot the host Marshall boys' soccer team 18-4 Thursday to post a 3-0 non-conference win.

Senior Isaac Phillips made 15 saves for the Owls, but the onslaught was too much, starting with senior Brett Jackson's goal in the ninth minute. The Crusaders (8-7-1) tallied twice in the second half, on shots by seniors T.J. Prenger and Trevor Stumbaugh.

Two of Marshall's four shots were taken by sophomore Isai Trujillo. Junior goalkeeper Kyle Daledovich stopped them all to hand the Owls only their second shutout of the season.

Marshall (9-7) will be at home Tuesday for an NCMC contest against Kirksville.
