Marshall Chapter celebrates 100th anniversary
Marshall Chapter celebrated 100 years with a tea and reception from 1 to 3 p.m. Oct. 6, at First United Methodist Church in Marshall.
Special guests included a number of MSSDAR officers and Missouri district directors as well as West Central District Chapter regents. A Saline County Commissioner and Marshall's mayor brought greetings of congratulation to the chapter. Greetings from Missouri's state regent were
read by MSSDAR Curator Sandra Comer.
Refreshments were served while all enjoyed a display of memorabilia and listening to music from past decades by member Julie Lewis.
The display of chapter memorabilia available for viewing included old scrapbooks, dress apparel, photos and other historic chapter documents.
Judy Anson Frerking, Marshall Chapter regent, presented a program and slide show at 2 p.m. on the history of the Marshall Chapter entitled "Service to God, Home, Community and Country, Our First 100 Years."
