The Optimist Club of Marshall held its weekly meeting at 7 a.m. Saturday, Oct. 6, at Bloomfield's.
The meeting was called to order by President Robyn Leimkuehler. The invocation was given by Kenny Clause, followed by the Pledge to the Flag.
The monthly board meeting will be held at 5:30 p.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, at Leimkuehler's office.
The first quarter conference will be held Nov. 2-3 at Truman Hotel and Convention Center in Jefferson City.
The program for the morning was given by Saline County Commissioner Monte Fenner. He spoke about the use tax that will be on the April ballot. A yes vote on the tax will eliminate out-of-state vendors from selling in Missouri without being taxed. Residents of Saline County will not be taxed by this.
The meeting was adjourned with the Optimist Creed.
