Kingsville Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 10/09/2012

Receipts:  1205    Last Week:  1629    Year Ago:  1797

   Compared to last week, steers over 500 lbs sold steady to 4.00 higher;
heifers under 600 lbs sold steady to 4.00 lower; heifers over 600 lbs sold
steady to 8.00 higher.  Supply was moderate with good demand.  Slaughter
cows traded steady.  Cows and bulls were 30 percent of receipts.  In the
feeder supply, steers and bulls were 56 percent of the run; heifers
44 percent.  Near 30 percent of feeders weighed over 600 lbs.

   Feeder Steers:  Medium and Large 1  430-500 lbs 159.50-173.50; 500-
600 lbs 150.00-175.10; 650-700 lbs 152.00-163.10; pkg 762 lbs 155.75; pkg
828 lbs 149.00.  Medium and Large 1-2  350-400 lbs 180.00-191.00; 400-
