Maudie M. Moss 90, of Orange City, Fla., formerly of Slater, died Sunday, Oct. 7, 2012, at the home of her daughter in Orange City.
Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Oct. 11, 2012, at First Baptist Church in Slater with Revs. David Slusher and Bruce Hess officiating. Burial will be in Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Higginsville. Pallbearers will be Chris Moss, Clayton Baker, Tim Murdock, Joey Clark, Zack Murdock and Luke Hayworth. Visitation will be from 10 to 11 a.m. Thursday at the church. Memorials are suggested to First Baptist Church or American Diabetes Association in care of Weiker Funeral Home in Slater.
Born Aug. 8, 1922, in Cadet, she was the daughter of the late John J. and Stella Cluff Marr. On Feb. 8, 1941, in Potosi, she married Virgil E. Moss, who preceded her in death on Jan. 9, 2004. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Slater and moved to Florida in 2010 from Slater.
She is survived by two sons, Virgil E. Moss Jr. and Wayne Moss, both of Slater; three daughters, Margaret (Margie) Murdock of rural Marshall, Beverly Hartle of Orange City, Fla., and Lois Jean Duncan of Auxvasse; 17 grandchildren; 31 great-grandchildren; a brother, Joe Marr of Marshall; and a sister, Mabel Clark of Piedmont.
She was preceded in death by a brother; a sister; and two grandsons.
