Kingsville Livestock Auction: Cattle Auction Report for 10/02/2012

   Compared to last week, all classes of calves and yearlings sold weak to 
3.00 lower.  Pressure on the market was evident throughout the offering, 
although some weight-groups of calves and lightweight yearlings actually had 
higher prices as many of the larger consignments in these classes had a flesh 
condition and weigh-up that was in the buyer’s favor.  Trading was active at 
the lower levels with good demand and a moderate supply.  Slaughter cows sold 
2.00-3.00 higher with bulls steady.  Receipts had 18 percent cows and bulls 
with the balance feeders.  The feeder supply included 55 percent steers, 40 
percent heifers, and 5 percent feeder bulls with 51 percent over 600 lbs.

quality 1145 lb short and solid mouthed 3rd stage 1185.00 per head.
