2 killed, 2 hurt in collision on I-70 Tuesday

Wednesday, October 3, 2012

Two Columbia residents were killed and two people were injured Tuesday afternoon in a collision on Interstate 70 in Saline County, according to a Missouri State Highway Patrol report.

Terron L. Davis, 26, and Andre L. Edwards, 25, were pronounced dead by Saline County Coroner Willie Harlow, according to the report.

They were passengers in a 1999 Buick driven by Randall D. Wells, 31, of Columbia. Well and another passenger, Brandon L. West, 29, suffered serious injuries and were transported to University Hospital in Columbia.

The crash occurred about 3:15 p.m. as Wells was driving westbound near the 73 mile-marker. The car went off the right side of the road.

Wells apparently overcorrected, and the car went of the left side of the road, through the median cables and into the path of an eastbound 2005 Peterbilt driven by Roland Mask, 31, of St. Louis, troopers said.

Mask was not reported injured.

Davis and Edwards were not wearing safety devices and were ejected from the vehicle.

Troopers were assisted by Saline County Ambulance and Lifeflight air ambulance.
