Noreen H. Gann, 87, of Kansas City, went to be with our Lord on Saturday, Sept. 29, 2012, at Our Lady of Mercy Country Home in Liberty. Visitation will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Oct. 3, 2012, at Campbell-Lewis Funeral Home in Marshall. Graveside services will follow visitation at Ridge Park Cemetery in Marshall. Born Aug. 31, 1925, in Carrollton, she was the daughter of the late Troy and Charlotte Smith Myers. In 1950, she married Delmer Gann, who she was married to for 54 years. She lived in Sedalia for more than 40 years and moved to Liberty in 2002 to be near her children and grandchildren.
She attended Stephens College in Columbia and graduated from St. Joseph Hospital School of Nursing in Kansas City as a registered nurse. She worked as an RN in Marshall, Kansas City and for many years at Bothwell Regional Health Center in Sedalia. She also worked as a home health nurse. After retiring, she spent years traveling in their RV, enjoying the new friends they met in Texas. In recent years she volunteered for Clay County Health Services, as well as the Good Shepard Center until she was 86 years old. She was a 50-year member of Beta Sigma Phi Sorority and was a member of St. James Catholic Church "Over 50 Club".
She is survived by two daughters, Lisa Gann of Kansas City and Lori Burns of Liberty; son-in-law, Jack Burns; and her treasured granddaughters, Mary Rose and Stella.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Delmer Gann; brothers-in-law, Jimmy, Russell and Clyde Gann; sisters-in-law, Lou Gann and Mildred "Pete" Gann; as well as her niece, Sondra Traver.
